Plans are coming together for a fun afternoon and evening for the whole family on Saturday, October 6th in Cunningham Lions Park. Games, races, a chili cook-off, a volleyball/poker scramble, apple bobbing and more are among the events being organized. 1:00: Volleyball/poker scramble – something new! Anyone who wants to play should be at the sand courts at 1:00 with $5 entry fee. Cards will be drawn to determine teams. Winner of each game will get a playing card. Team with the best poker hand at the end of the tournament wins the cash pot!
3:30-5:00: Games! Apple bobbing, Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin, pumpkin roll races, gourd bowling, and turtle races-bring your fastest turtle! Prizes for playing! Also during this time you can bring your decorated pumpkin for the Pumpkin Decorating Contest and vote for your favorite pumpkin, prizes will also be given for the winners.
4:30-5:00: Check in for the 4C Chili Competition at the shelter near the park restrooms. Cook up your favorite recipe to bring! Tickets to taste the entries can purchased, then vote on your favorite chili starting at 5:00. 4C will also have hamburgers for sale starting at 5:00.
5:00: Haybale hurdle races and Pass/Punt/Kick competition starts at football field. Participants will be divided into age groups and prizes will be given for winners. Adults are welcome, too…come test your old football skills!
6:00: If we have participants, horseshoes and washer tournaments will start on the south end of the park.
