Adults in the Pratt area who need a high school diploma can enroll for free this year.  The Learning Center at Pratt staff will hold free enrollment from Monday, August 20th through Thursday, August 23rd from 9:00 to 7:00 PM.  Enrollment in Pratt will begin August 20th and will be free to students enrolling August 20th through August 24th.  As always treats will be served.
A high school diploma is powerful because it changes lives.  A diploma opens opportunities for jobs, college, technical schools, and the military.  More education means more money, and a greater likelihood of securing employment.  Also, a child of a parent who has a high school diploma is 87% more likely to also receive their diploma.  The Learning Center at Pratt helps adults who have not graduated to earn their high school diploma.  Students earn a real, accredited Pratt High School diploma through The Learning Center at Pratt.
At The Learning Center at Pratt, students can complete high school without actually being inside of a high school.  Understanding the unique needs and time constraints of working adults, The Learning Center offers flexible scheduling and online classes allowing students to work at their own pace and convenience.  Students receive personal attention and the friendly staff will help remove the obstacles that have hindered learners from completing high school in the past.
A high school diploma has more value than a GED and adults can upgrade their GED to an official high school diploma at The Learning Center at Pratt.  Passing the GED (General Educational Development) test is not the same thing as earning a high school diploma.  The military and many universities do not recognize it as a basis for admission.  Employers and jobseekers state that a high school diploma is given preference over the GED.  At The Learning Center at Pratt a GED is worth valuable credits towards a real high school diploma.
At only $20, after August 23rd, The Learning Center at Pratt offers adults an affordable second chance.  The internet offers a multitude of online programs, but many adults have spent large amounts of money, only to find the diploma or certificate earned was not accredited and therefore unacceptable to colleges, technical schools, the military and employers.  The Learning Center at Pratt is a local, area wide diploma completion program partnered with Pratt High School, offering students who complete the 21 state required credits an official Pratt High School diploma.   Also, students of The Learning Center can qualify for TLC/Pratt Community College scholarships.  Learn more about The Learning Center at Pratt at www.getmydiploma.org, then click “Like Us On facebook.”
