Hamburgers, Hotdogs, and a Free Swim
K-West for Growth Public Square Community will sponsor a “Youth Conversation” at 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 18, at the Cunningham Community Center.  All area teenagers and community leaders are invited, as well as anyone with an interest in the K-West for Growth’s efforts to listen to and involve area youth in a community conversation.
Come early.  At 6:30 p.m., hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, soft drinks, and cookies will be served.  The conversation will be facilitated by Jeanette Siemens, a Community Facilitator with Public Square Communities LLC.
“Briefly,” said Mrs. Siemens, “this is a conversation mainly for and by the youth to discuss issues that affect them as well as those of concern to the young people.”
Monday’s gathering at the Community Center is a Youth Conversation to discuss issues from school surveys, including a survey done through K-State in which one of the main issues voiced was the need for a place for kids to congregate, explained Siemens.
Monday’s Youth Conversation will be followed by a free swim at the Cunningham swimming pool.
