Over $10,000.00 awarded this year

The West Kingman County Education Foundation presented twenty-one scholarships to graduating seniors and alumni at the Cunningham High School Graduation on Friday night, May 11, 2012. The Salutatorian scholarship given by the foundation went to Bayleigh Meyers.  The other foundation scholarships were presented to seniors Hunter Hope, Justin Stackhouse, and Melissa Albers. The alumni scholarships went to Grant Kerschen, Brian Stackhouse, Ashley Albers, Kristen Fischer, Ashley Fitzsimmons, and Kyle Kerschen.
The Leroy Schnittker Scholarships went to Katie Hope, Melissa Albers, and Rebecca Stillwell.
The Huffman Scholarship was awarded to Rebecca Stillwell.  The Class of 1955 Scholarship was presented to senior Hunter Hope.  The Bradley Scholarship was given to Luke McAdam. The Graves Scholarship went to Bayleigh Meyers.  The Swander Scholarship was presented to Katie Hope.  The Dale DeWeese Family Scholarship was awarded to Hunter Hope.  The Cunningham Community Scholarships were given to Melissa Albers and Bayleigh Meyers.
The total sum of the scholarships was $10,450.00.
The money made from the West Kingman County Education Foundation golf tournament goes for scholarships.  The foundation will again sponsor this tournament on July 14, 2012 at Park Hills Country Club in Pratt to raise money for scholarships next year.
The tournament will be a scramble format.  Each team will be comprised of four golfers.  The fee is $40.00 per player.  Players will have to make arrangement for their own golf carts.  Lunch will be provided.  There will be a $10,000.00 Hole In One Contest ($5,000 to the golfer and $5,000 to the Scholarship Fund.)
