In conjunction with Law Day 2012, the Kingman County Bar Association will be hosting a free legal clinic on Monday, May 7, 2012. The clinic will be held in the City Commission chambers at Kingman City Hall located at 324 North Main Street in downtown Kingman. The clinic will be open from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. No appointments are necessary, and individuals will be assisted on a first-come first-served basis. The goal of this clinic is to help individuals with their specific legal questions and direct them to attorneys who can assist them with any potential case. Local attorneys will be available to answer questions and provide referrals for any Kingman County resident. All legal questions are welcomed, but time limitations will preclude participating attorneys from covering all aspects of any particular issue. Referral lists will be available for individuals who wish to pursue additional assistance. Law Day was established by the American Bar Association to celebrate the rule of law. Law Day underscores how law and the legal process have contributed to the freedoms that all Americans share. This year’s theme is “No Courts, No Justice, No Freedom” to highlight the crucial role of our courts and to foster a better understanding of the judiciary Law Day is officially on May 1st, and this free law clinic is part of the local bar association’s commemoration of this important day. School children have been invited to view court proceedings on May 4th and participate in a question and answer session with local attorneys and the judge afterward. Tours of the law enforcement center will be included.
